Good health is the secret ingredient of a glowing skin. By becoming healthy and staying fit all the time, people would eventually notice that their skin looks better. It won’t be dry and scaly, but has a natural glow to it. There are many ways to maintain this kind of skin condition. Let me show you the variety of healthy foods you can eat to keep your skin looking young and fresh and glowing naturally all over.

We have been taught since kindergarten to eat a balance diet, and this includes incorporating a lot of vegetables and fruits in our protein and carbohydrate diet. They may not excite our taste buds when we were still kids, but the adults knew that one way to keep our skin healthy is to keep our whole body healthy. A body with all its systems functioning in top condition would eventually be noticeable to everyone. The hair shines, the skin glows, nails are strong and senses are intact. Therefore, the first step in keeping a healthy glowing skin is to stay healthy within.

It is not just through eating that we can keep our body healthy. Getting the right amount of sleep daily, drinking enough water daily to keep the body hydrated, maintaining daily hygiene routine, regular bowel movements, and having a regular exercise regimen are also important factors that are needed by the body to be in good condition.

The healthy foods you can eat come from a variety of choices. It is important to have them at different times of the week so that you don’t lose your liking for them. Because we are human, we also long for foods that are healthy yet delicious. They say it’s not possible to get this package in one. Let’s find out.

A variety of fish like fresh tuna, mackerel, and sardines are good for the skin, too. They contain essential fatty acids that promote a healthy looking moisturized skin. Leafy green vegetables and spinach, also promote nourishment to the skin. It has high water content aside from the vitamins and minerals that it gives to the body. Incorporate extra virgin olive oil in your cooking because it contains antioxidants and good fats that also promote skin nourishment.

Fruits like berries, mango and avocado are the best fruits to eat to enhance skin texture as they are rich in antioxidants like Vitamin A, C and E. Wholegrain like bread and pasta are rich in fiber therefore promoting good digestion which is essential in the maintenance of good health. Almonds, hazelnuts, honey, green tea, and low-fat yogurts are also included in this list that promote skin glow.

Curing Acne Starts With Nature – Lots of Water and Healthy Foods – Just the Basics

It always fascinates me when I think how closely connected our health and balance is to the health and balance of our planet. Think about it, Earth is 70% covered by water and our bodies are made up of 70% water. Earth has a natural, delicate balance that must be respected, and when violated (polluted), its surface can change color and appearance. Likewise, our bodies are designed to live a long healthy life, and when we “pollute” it with unhealthy diets and toxins, our body can signal the imbalance by changing the appearance of our skin. One of the most common skin changes is acne. Why does the skin breakout? Something in our bodies is off balance.

So, Where do we start? We start with the most basic element in our bodies – water. It is safe to assume that most of us do not drink anywhere near the amount of water we should be drinking. Our cells love water, and so do our vital organs. With plenty of water your body has the ability to flush toxins and unwanted substances out of the system. With abundant water your skin cells are hydrated and more flexible, which makes your skin look softer and healthier. Another great benefit of water and the flushing of toxins is that it can help clear your skin. When too many toxins get re-absorbed into the blood-stream in our intestinal track, for example, our skin can react in many ways, and usually acne is one of them.

The Good News -

Water is readily available, so drink plenty of it, your skin will thank you, and you will see a difference. I recommend filtering your water too, either with a pitcher that has a filter, or a filter installed right on your kitchen water tap. As a rule, you should be drinking at least 2 liters or half a gallon of water a day – 8 tall glasses of water will do the trick. I start and end my day with a big glass of water. For me it’s a habit, so, I don’t even think about it. If you do it for 30 days it will become a habit. By the way, soda, coffee, and sweet drinks are not the way to go. I’m talking about water, although quality organic tea is good, and I drink many cups throughout my day (typically green, red, and white tea).

Acne Treatment from the Inside -

Fighting your acne will take another big step, and this one is far more challenging than drinking more water. I’m talking about the food (and junk food) you put in your mouth. There aren’t enough late night TV infomercial acne treatment products to cure your acne or oily skin. If you don’t change your eating habits, spreading harsh chemical creams over your skin is simply attacking the acne symptom, not the cause of acne. That’s like taking a pain killer for a tooth ache. You will numb the pain, but you’re doing nothing for the cause of the tooth ache. Making changes to help your acne condition doesn’t mean I’m talking about becoming a monk or a vegetarian necessarily, we all enjoy the experience of eating tasty foods. However, there are foods that burden our bodies and ultimately mess with our hormonal balance, which in turn can contribute to acne, not to mention other inflammatory responses in the body.
